Tips / Tricks

  • The app can be put into 'EDIT' mode to control the look & feel and location of any of the tiles. To put the app into EDIT mode, touch the left side of the screen and drag it to the right. That will open the navigation drawer. Then, hit "Edit Mode"

  • When in EDIT mode, to move icons around, press and hold a device and drag the icon to where you want it

  • All of the default devices you see come from your Hubitat Hub. To add a virtual device, hit the "Add Device" button at the top-right of the screen (while in Edit mode). There's several different tiles you can add here like an image URL, date/time, Hubitat's HSM (Safety Monitor) and MODE (home/away). You can also add a folder which can be used to create separate dashboards inside of the main one.

  • To move devices to a folder, drag them on top of the folder. You can remove a device from the folder by editing the device you want to remove and select the "Remove from folder" option.

  • Several devices have their own options to customize them.. for example the Thermostat device supports a 'wide' mode and normal mode. The dimmer light device supports 2 different ways of adjusting the brightness.

  • Most devices can be customized - background color, icon color and even the icon can be changed. In the same place you can change these colors for all devices of this type, all 'on' or 'off' states for any device and more!

  • Some devices can have multiple ways to be displayed. For example, some sensors can be a Temperature sensor, a Humidity sensor, a Contact sensor and more. You can change between the device types in the edit dialog for a device.
